Greetings

Munich is a sports city in every respect: One million people are active in sports and the city is a cosmopolitan and warm host for international sports competitions. I am very pleased that the 5th World Bowling Championships for the Deaf will be held in Unterföhring – after the European Championships were already held here in 2018.

300 athletes* from 35 nations will deliver exciting competitions under the motto “team play and fairness”. The City of Munich attaches great importance to the issues of gender equality and inclusion, especially when it comes to promoting sports. We are very happy to support the “5th World Deaf Bowling Championships 2023”, which will shine as a top competitive sporting event far beyond Munich.

I would like to thank the German Deaf Sports Association for hosting these World Championships and wish all athletes a lot of fun, a great time in Munich and of course much success!
